Any Teen can join the Y Achievers, however, the Y Achievers Program is geared toward youth in 7th and 8th grades.

Y ACHIEVERS IS COMPLETELY FREE FOR Y MEMBERS & NON-MEMBERS! Active participants will even receive a FREE LFY Student Membership!!

Y Achievers meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month (beginning Jan. 17th) at 6:30pm at the Lawton Family YMCA. They do a community service project every 4-6 weeks (usually on a Saturday) that is planned and organized by the teens.

The year 2011-12 marks the 61th Anniversary of the Oklahoma YMCA Youth in Government program. YMCA Youth in Government gives high school students from around the state the opportunity to author legislation and debate it in the chambers of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.  Our Judicial Branch allows students to be witnesses, attorneys, and judges in the Court of Criminal Appeals at the State Capitol.  Since the beginning of the program, over 12,000 students have been involved with this unique leadership experience.  

We are fortunate to have the financial support of former program participants, such as James Waldo, former Youth Governor.  We are also supported by generous contributions from the Hatton W. Sumner Foundation and the Oklahoma Bar Foundation.  This support keeps the program fees low to our participants so that students from a variety of backgrounds can enjoy this unique experience.

YMCA Triathalon Series - Ages 1-15 years old

SWIM:
Kids will be allowed to use life jackets (U.S. Coast Guard approved) if needed.  Swimmers may wear goggles however mask, fins, and snorkels are not allowed.

BIKE:
All racers must wear ANSI approved helmet and must be worn and fastened before leaving the transition area.  Training wheels will be allowed for the Bantam division racers only.

RUN:
Distances are based on ages & divisions.

OK-YMCA Triathlon Series

6th Hour P.E. is designed to teach the students how to practice a healthier lifestyle while they are young.
Once the student has signed up, participation is required.  A grade will be given at the end of each semester.  Fitness assessments will be given periodically.

Open to all students from MacArthur High School, Lawton High School and Eisenhower High School.
